Ebenezer Lutheran Church and its pastor….praying to the Cosmic Mother. Watch it. What harm comes when we neuter our language? What could possibly be wrong with retranslating the Scripture to remove gender references?  What can come when we dress women up as pastors and make-believe they are? Well, folks, here you go. This is the dead end of that path.

Another blogger rightly puts matters this way:

If Martin Luther ever heard Pastor Stacy of Ebenezer Lutheran Church, also known as "her church", make the following statement found on the churches website, he would surely tack a thesis of heresy upon their door.

"In the name of the Holy, Cosmic, Mother of the risen Christ, Amen." – Pastor Stacy concluding a prayer.

Where
is the leadership within the ELCA? Has the ELCA become this liberal?
Muslims were outraged when Allah was portrayed with a bomb in his
turban. We ought not react with the same murderous vengeance as the
Muslims, but we are commanded biblically to take every thought captive
to the obediency of Christ. Fellow Christians who see this video
should have their "heresy light" flashing bright red. This "church"
needs to be counseled and challenged in a gracious manner from those
within the Christian community.

I cannot fathom how this church (Ebeneezer) can continue to lie to itself, the ELCA, and its members that it is Christian. There is no Jesus Christ there, for if he was, there would be no building, pastor, or congregation left as he would have destroyed them all in his holiness. This is none other than a church of active paganism! Yikes! I felt like I wanted to vomit as I listened to “Pastor” Stacy talk, and to see the images of the self-made goddesses from their women’s retreat on their website… ancient paganism is alive and well in San Fransisco. God forbid that anyone think there is anything redeemable in that theological cesspool. May God have mercy on their souls and the souls of all those women trapped in their lies. These people worship Satan and the Whore of Babylon, not the Triune God of all creation.

I wondered at the elderly women in that ‘congregation.’ They seemed trapped–like they’d been caught up in the false promises, perhaps after years of lonely living.
Makes their false prophet seem all the more diabolical, taking advantage of the needs and fears of women.
Which basically is the crux of feminism: a ‘theology’ of fear and anger.

For it to be heresy, it would have to be in some sense, Christian.
That is out and out paganism. The closest it comes to Christianity would be to see it as a black mass.

One wonders if they use raisincakes for “communion” with their Asherah statues…

Paganism and politics all rolled into one neurotic self loathing little ball. The web site statment about the congregation reveals the convoluted thinking “standiing firmly within the Christian tradtion” they say, but “Christianity for the most part continues to slight or silence the voice and power of women.” How do you stand firmly with in a tradition that you believe slights and silences you? The same way the Ashera poles stood firmly in the temple (2Kings 21:7). All that’s left is a statue of Dianna and cadre of vestal virgins.

I’m afraid I missed something between the lines on the website, other than a misspelled word what the world is is ‘thealogy?’

It doesn’t seem to me that they are gender neutral in that congregation. There’s nothing neutered about their language. If you took your dog in to be neutered like this, he’d soon have puppies.

I could not see this video because windows blocked it to protect my computer. Maybe it’s just as well, judging from some of the comments! BTW, when will we in the Mo. Synod really take to heart St. Paul’s admonition:”Warn a divisive
man (or woman) twice and after that having nothing to do with them.”?!

I wonder how many Lutheran parents are fooled when their daughters, away to school or the Big City, tell them not to worry, they are going to Ebenezer Lutheran Church? I hope not many. God help the ELCA to wake up, if that is still possible.

If you take a look at their website (click on the name of the “church”), you’ll see that one of this circus’ staff members is a “seminarian.” Notice how it appears as if he’s trying to hide behind the plant? Maybe someone should try to help him escape! :-D
    Oh — a MALE seminarian! Sacrilege! :-D

As I was finishing my other comment, my six-year-old daughter came up to the screen and asked what “that” was (referring to the circus website). I TOLD her what it was — VERY, VERY BAD. When she asked why (keep in mind her tender age), I TOLD her that it was because they call themselves a church but they do NOT do what Jesus wants His CHURCH TO do.

This isn’t just in one ELCA church. It is a trend in western culture as a whole. That we are not men and women but a unisex. This showing up in the church is where world is affecting our view of God rather than God affecting how we are in the world.
Anger and outrage are allowed and even called for here. But, acting out in sin because of the anger is not the way to go.

Check out the link below for more background on Ebenezer Lutheran Church from a relatively conservative ELCA pastor. It seems “Pastor Stacy” boasts of being the last official graduate of Seminex!

I met Stacy when we were teenagers. We were both youth delegates to the 1973 LCMS Synod Convention sometimes known as the Battle of New Orleans. I can’t help but wonder if she would be a Christian today, if God’s people on all sides of the LCMS crisis, had been better behaved, especially at the Rivergate.
