A great comment came in on the previous post, and I share it here.

Jesus was an embryo, too!

To deny full humanity to a conceptus is to deny full humanity to the Savior, "qui conceptus est de Spiritu Sancto, natus ex Maria virgine" (Latin).

We worship the coming Savior, we worship the ascended Lord, we worship the resurrected Son of Man, we worship the crucified Lamb, we worship the Boy in the temple, we worship the Babe in the manger, we worship the Conceptus in the womb of the Mother of God.

Amen.

This is all so true. I think even the annunciation was celebrated in some areas before Christmas! Now that says something!
I was listening to NPR the other day which is some ways is a great station, but in other ways infuriates me to no end becuase it takes on the pro-choice movement so shamelessly.
First, they referred to partial-birth abortion as “so-called partial birth abortion”. What is “so-called” about it? I understand that a lot of terms can have slight bias to them, even if I use them. But there is no bias at all. It is an abortion of a baby as it is being born… not completely born, but partially. So, I thought, “That’s dumb… but perhaps it can be understood in different ways and it doesn’t JUST refer to babies that are aborted during labor”, trying to open-minded about (not that I would agree anyhow). So I listented on (and this is the kicker).
They describe JUST as I did above, except with other words that are laughable at best. The newsanchor goes on to describe it as “when the fetus is aborted before completely exiting the birth canal”. First of all, that just goes to prove my (our) point that there is nothing “so-called” about “partial-birth abortion”. it’s as scientifically accurate a name you can get without using latin. Second of all… FETUS? Since when do we refer to a fully formed human as a FETUS?
It’s so ridiculous. Of course they couldn’t say baby, because that cuts to close to the matter. From an atheist point of view (which is the best light we can give abortion since nothing means anything anyhow) abortions are “mercy killings”. Unfortunately, mercy implies selflessness… and fortunately atheism is a lie, so life does matter… so killing innocents… is still killing no matter what scientific euphemism we dress it up in.
    Rant off.
    John
