As large, mainline, Western churches continue to decline, as they lose their identity and passion for their unique identity, the Christian churches of the global south press on and are growing. Here is a must read column by Michael Gerson, brought to my attention by Lutheran blogger Dr. Gene Edward Veith.

Ah!
Such a great story! I can’t help but laugh with sadness and resignation. This is an amazing point in history: the great Giant America, who is always right and is the world’s measuring stick has missionaries coming to us! It is the great reversal and sadly shows how far we have really fallen in keeping the Gifts of God.
I can’t wait till our beloved Missouri Synod gets missionaries from Africa! That will be another “funny” day.
You’ll live to see that day, Ben.
OK, are you saying that the decay within the Episcopal church is happening in the LCMS? Please elaborate.
I’m afraid I know your answer.
