Why is that a raging head cold/upper respiratory infection feels worse on the last long-weekend/Summer holiday than it does when it comes in the middle of Winter? And why does it make one feel just a little better to whine and feel sorry for oneself about it? A forced "stay at home and do nothing but read and listen to Bach" day is a nice side-benefit from it. And that’s good.

Get well soon. I feel your pain, my fall allergies just attacked!
McCain: Yes, and then one looks forward to the very first hard freeze that kills off the allergen!
This might help ease your pain: just a sweet little kid with a beautiful voice!

Pastor McCain, get well soon and enjoy the Bach. At your suggestion, I ordered the 155 CD collection you so enjoy. (I agree it’s wonderful, but also daunting! So many CDs!) Hopefully you’ll only get through a few more of the cantatas before you’re back in the swing of things.

I’ll take the allergies. Our first “hard freeze” lasts six months! That’s pretty tough on this old Florida boy.
Summer colds are the worst. I used to suffer from allergies before moving to California. Now I just suffer from inflated housing costs and endless traffic.
It all forces us to embrace the death, redeemed in Jesus.
