Update on Treasury of Daily Prayer, with Photos

We received back from the printer a set of unbound signatures of Treasury of Daily Prayer. It is exciting to seeing it coming into shape and form. The paper is really nice and thin enough to make the book not at all overwhelmingly thick, yet thick enough to make sure you can read it without a problem with bleed-through. Some of you have reminded me, in varying degrees of politeness, that I said promotional materials would be hitting your congregations about now. Well, there was apparently a bit of miscommunication on that point. The promotional materials are coming, but won't be arriving until the third week in October. We are striving to get them out sooner. But they are coming, along with a nice sign-up poster so you may take group orders in your congregation. Until then, please be sure to refer people to our comprehensive review-site: cph.org/prayer. We are also working on placing files on the site that you can use once the sample runs out on Oct. 5.

Here is a photo of some of the unbound signatures on a table in our office. Click on it to enlarge it.

speaking of TDP, I mentioned to Weedon that when it comes out, it would be good for Pastors to have a “how to” class for congregation members before/after church (for various reasons, like giving Sunday School teachers an opportunity to attend, I’d do it at a separate time than Bible Class). Maybe do it over a series of Sundays, 10-15 minutes a Sunday emphasizing 1-2 features of the book. We do not want to overwhelm the newbies, because they might just give up. A lot of this course would simply involve verbally teaching the “How to Use” page and the Introduction.
CPH has done an excellent job posting stuff saying, “You should buy this.” Does CPH have any plans to post on its website “Ok, you’ve bought this, this is what you do with it” – like an introductory course pastors could present?

    Rev. McCain
Thank you for this wonderful resource! I wanted to let you know that the first copy I receive will be promptly forwarded via corporate mail courier to two of our members who are assigned to China. When they are home in the USA, they worship with us, but when they are on assignment they have a great challenge finding any place offering corporate worship and unfortunately this also means that what they do find is not wholly Christian, catholic, or Lutheran.
So this wonderful volume will serve their needs for daily and weekly devotion. It also means they will be able to share the “Treasury” with those who are around them. Thank you again for this wonderful resource which will certainly be used to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in China and I’m sure so many other places as well…
    In Christ,

When will it be out? We’re heading home in December and I’d like to get one. Also, any chance I’d have trouble getting it in less than a month or should I order it before I leave Kuwait so it can get there sooner?
McCain: We are expecting them to be in our active inventory by the end of October. The best advice I can give is to place your order now, to get in line, so to speak, and you can certainly have it mailed to a USA address for pick up when you are back.
