I've never seen memory prices this low…and I've been into this stuff for a long, long time. Word to the wise: You'll never go wrong maxing out your computer's memory capacity! Here is the site I use.

Three things that are never true:

I have too much bookshelf space.
I have too much memory.
I have too much hard drive capacity.

Unless, of course, you are planning to buy one of the new Apple Macbook Pro 17″ machines, in which case, an 8GB DDR3 1066Mhz upgrade will run you $1,200.

For the most part I agree about memory — it’s amazingly cheap nowadays, and you can’t go wrong with having more of it — it can only help your machine go faster. But I’ve also been noticing that as machines get more powerful, they start requiring faster modules, and those can be a lot more expensive — 10x as expensive in some cases.
