If you have not heard of this, and I thought it was a hoax when I first did, it is not. It is amazing. Well, until I realized it was Google being Google, again.

And because Google is Google, they aren’t just offering an amazing free service. Rather, they’re using the service to gather voice clips so they can enhance audio search (which will obviously also enhance video search). Awesome strategy when you think about it … just another way Google is making money without being evil.

Yup! Neat service. They have had it going for a couple of years now. I remember once I tried using it to find pizza place phone number and it ended up giving me pizza joints several towns over… Opps, I’ll just blame it on it having been in Iowa.
Now I have a smart phone so I can just use the normal google.

Yeah — my son uses this. I found it about 6 mos ago, but promptly forgot about it (why do I need it normally? I either know the numbers I need or it’s an easy web search). It’s kinda convenient when you are in the car looking for a store .. We were debating a trip out to Sam’s to pick up a prescription, and I debated powering up the web browser on my phone and looking up the number to see if the pharmacy was open; he dialed google411 and connected right to them.
You wonder where their income stream is for this type of thing ….
