God is Not Tolerant and Grace is Not Tolerance

Grace is not grace without sin. This is good. Ironically, Christ did bear our sins. The root word for tolerate or tolerance is a Latin word that means to carry or bear….tolerare.
I think part of the problem of turning the Gospel into “tolerance” is a Lutheran tendency to exaggerate the distinction between Law & Gospel until it becomes the utter division of Law & Gospel.
