Kaleb - I understand your fears about the pro-life movement and would like to make 2 points:
1) Anything can become a religion or idol. Even good things. In college I became so convicted and active in the pro-life movement that I remember thinking "this is more important than anything in my life, even God." I even thought of converting to the Roman Catholic Church because they were the main people I would see actually doing something.
2) Who knows what was on the edit floor? She may have spoken more about her conversion. However, I think you are correct that her conversion was to the pro-life cause, I heard her on a radio program and she says she was always a Christian (Episcopal I think, if I remember correctly).
Regardless, I think it is a wonderful conversion - praise God that He is working in her life, and drawing her out of this evil and using her to expose what is going on - hopefully causing others to reconsider their employment or perhaps even save some lives after hearing her talk. I don't think God is done working in her life, and who knows what her final testimony will be?

One can an atheist and be "pro-life". One can view that life has value no matter if the individual has yet to be born. When Pres. Obama was asked when an unborn child is entitled to human rights, he refused to answer.

Once you dehumanize someone, you can do all types of evil: slavery, abortion, genocide, etc.

I'm glad this lady has rejected abortion, but can we as Lutherans really describe this as a "wonderful conversion"? The only conversion I hear her talking about is a "conversion" to the pro-life movement, along with some troubling talk about how "pure in heart" she feels.

Some elements of the pro-life movement have turned their cause into a religion unto itself. We should oppose this wherever we find it.
