Pastor Weedon routinely notes the visit count to his blog site and then asks his readers to say who they are, and where they are from. It’s a fun thing to do. So, in the past six months Cyberbrethren has had 250,000 unique visitors. Only a very tiny fraction of you post a comment, so, here’s your chance to tell us who you are, and where you are from. Thanks for reading. Please introduce yourself.

I love this blog! I don’t always make it here every day but I try to get here often enough not to miss an article. And I love Bach, too!

I was raised in the Conservative Baptist denomination in the Pacific Northwest. After moving away from the Pacific Northwest, I joined various Southern Baptist Churches. My husband joined the Baptist Church when he came to know the Lord as a teenager and he and I married in the Baptist Church here in Texas. In the mid-90′s I began feeling the need for a change but my husband was quite content where we were so I really thought it would not happen. But I prayed about it.

As time went on, the church we were in became more and more “church growth” oriented and I began to feel ever more spiritually hungry. My husband was quite content to hear a sermon and be with fellow christians on Sunday, so I kept praying.

Through some events, unforseen to me but not to God, my husband realized that we did indeed need to find a different church home. We spent about a year looking and were confirmed in the Episcopal Church here in Fort Worth in May 2008. We’re both really happy where we’re at now.

I really love the God centered, scripture saturated liturgical service from the 1928 Book of Common Prayer, the Bible focused preaching and the opportunity to have communion frequently. I find myself growing the Lord and experiencing His joy in my life in ways that I could not have predicted even in difficult circumstances.

I am an Iowan–born and bred–currently living in Cedar Rapids. My vocation involves writing business requirements for software. Currently, my family has membership at an independent Bible church where we serve in whatever capacity is needed. My passion is to disciple other men. I also enjoy reading the church fathers and gleaning what is profitable-but-forgotten.

This has become an important addition to my Christian Walk. I am a member of
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Orange, Ca. Celebrating just over 100 years the day school at our congregation received Blue Ribbon status in 2009! I’ve been blessed to be a part of the lay leadership as an Elder for nine years. I also am honored to be a part of the Prayer Ministry and Worship Choir. I’ve been blessed to attend a couple of mission trips to Mexico but count it a greater joy to see my son involved with three trips to the Apache Nation in Arizona with the youth group. I am the Charter Org. Rep. for our thriving Boy Scout Troop and Venture Crew. Several Eagle Scouts from the troop marched in the Rose Parade a few weeks ago. I enjoy being the Membership Chairman for the Southern California Chapter of the Lutheran Association of Scouters and in 2010 we will celebrate our 60th year as an organization dedicated to our youth. I enjoy attending a weekly men’s bible study and will be part of a new study focusing on End-Times issues. <:)))<

I’ve been following your blog with interest for a few years now. I’m a Catholic in New York with a reading interest in Lutheran history and theology. I admire your publishing work as well; I’ve recently received my copy of the Lutheran Study Bible. It looks splendid, though I do wish the paper were a bit more opaque.

    Keep up the great work!

I have had vocations of Lutheran educator in Florida and Papua New Guinea, a missionary in PNG and among American Indians with the Center for Indian Ministries and Studies at Concordia, Seward in the late 70′s and early 80′s, a pastor in Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Havre and Chinook, and at Hamilton, Montana before retiring. Since retirement I returned to the pulpit in Harlowton, Montana while living in Red Lodge, Montana, a Sunday journey of 130 with this same distance needed to be covered if needed there, during the week. In retirement Nancy and I are cultivating friends in Red Lodge who are also retired and have nothing to do with church or religion. It has been a challenged and to cope this blog is a place sent by God for renewal and contemplation. Thanks
