Icon of J.S. Bach

Marketing Advertising Blog — VuManhThang.Com

I stumbled upon a web site with a large collection of icons, in a more modern style. One of them is, yup, of J.S. Bach. You can not only buy a copy of the icon in various formats, you can purchase it on a t-shirt and coffee mug. I’m not sure what to make of this, but…for what it is worth, if you have been looking for an icon of J.S. Bach to add to your collection, here you go.

I’ve always worried that I idolize J.S. too much. This would not be good for me….. Besides, this is a little weird for my tastes.

Could someone translate the Greek for us lay peeps? :)

      No, sorry. It’s secret pastor-talk.

      : )

Sure, if I make it out correctly, the Greek, and here I have to transliterate, since I don’t know how to do Greek letters here: “o agios johannes” . . . which, very literally, is “The Holy One John”

      Or: St. John!

      : )

Phew, that’s way too much work for me.

There has to be an easier way, oh, wait, maybe there is. Google translator comes through, at least, well enough.

You can also get an icon of the following:
    Albert Einstein
    Elizabeth Cady Stanton
    Fakhr ad-Din
    Harvey Milk
    Jalal Ud-din Rumi
The Horned “God of the Dance”
MLK Jr (but not Martin Luther… I don’t doubt MLK Jr.’s faith… he really shouldn’t be in this list)
    Merlin
    Ghandi

I don’t really want to bother going on… point being… when enemies of the Church, pagan ‘gods’, mythical warlocks, etc. are depicted as “saints”, I’d take my business elsewhere. It makes a mockery of real saints such as Bach.
