The Essential Lutheran Library and The Three-Time Buyer!
June 18th, 2010
I heard from a lady the other day who told me that she has now, personally, ordered three sets of The Essential Lutheran Library, and keeps giving them away as gifts. Nice! Here’s a picture of the latest version of The Essential Lutheran Library with the new volume Law and Gospel: How to Read and Apply the Bible added to it.

And I can’t even afford one set. Ah, well.
Just when I thought I had completed my set… Time to get a new book!
And be ready for yet one more this Fall when we release The Lutheran Difference, which is a lay-friendly presentation of all the major points of Christian doctrine, with explanations and comparison/contrast to the teaching of the other major Christian churches. And we have The Lutheran Bible Handbook in the works as well for release in a couple years. The Children’s Story Bible is also another masterpiece which will be out in 2011, and it’s spine matches the covers of the TELL, so it can be added too.

When that Lutheran Difference comes out, I’m sure you’re thinking of this, but please tease out some issues like who is really Reformed, the doctrine that results in the United Methodist Church as a result of the merger of the United Brethren and the Methodist Church, and some of these other points. It would probably be cool if you had a doctrinal representative who agreed with the doctrine we say that they have. If you’re producing a book and not just a tract, you can get into these kinds of things.
Confirmation back in my day was just the difference between Lutherans and Roman Catholics, just because of the history. Thanks!
