Todd Friel is (or was) local here in the Twin Cities. He is a radio host who has chiefly been emphasizing the need for pastors to convict sinners and preach repentance and the remission of sins. He is one of the most vocal opponents of Christ-less evangelicalism in this area of the country, and I think that he is also now associated with Way of the Master – the Ray Comfort / Kirk Cameron group.
Todd Friel is a former WELS guy who I think says that he came to Christ as an adult (after he had been studying to be a pastor?). He is good friends with Kirk Cameron (Growing Pains, Fireproof) and Ray Comfort (see “the 10 canons of God’s Law” or “Hell’s best kept secret”) who are evangelicals who talk about the importance of Law and Gospel (although there is a little confusion there as well).
In the past, Todd worked at KKMS 980 AM in the Minneapolis St. Paul area. Like Comfort and Cameron, he likes to do street evangelism and likes to talk to people about the 10 commandments: “You think you are good person?”
