Mormonism: Damning Theology and Damnably Bad Poetry

Bad theology + bad poetry = all around bad situation.

You’ve probably been noticing that the Mormon Church has been engaged recently in all-out media blitz to, as ever, position themselves as just plain folks who love life, their families and, oh yea, they are Mormons! I recall as recently even as a few years ago how Mormons would bristle at any use of the word “Mormon” to refer to them or their religion, but, seeing the PR light, they have embraced the term, “Mormon.” Unfortunately there are way too many Christians who have glommed on to Glenn Beck, bloviator extraordinaire, and have allowed him to create a huge PR platform for Mormonism, which is taking full advantage of.

And so, whenever this kind of thing happens, it is important to remember why Mormonism is not a Christian religion. It is a cult that uses some concepts that sound Christian, but the theology of Mormonism is decidedly anti-Biblical and anti-Christian. Mormonism is a false and damning religion.

Here is a video from Wretched Network making the point, in its own typically unique way.

Here are full lyrics to the hymn.

And if you think this hymn is bizarre, check out “O My Father” written by a woman after Joseph Smith taught her about “spirit parents.”

I just can’t get into LDSism, even for the sake of refuting it. Then again, I never got into Marvel Comics as a kid, either.
Even my own up-tight Church (old Ho of the Tiber) recognizes most other (at least trinitarian) baptisms, but not Mormon ones.

I suppose this article would be more applicable for a non-mormon living in Utah or neighboring states. Thankfully, Mormonism is not very big in the Midwest. Naive-looking groups of young men sporting black ties and wearing name tags are easy to identify and avoid.

It will take much more than a slick and deceptive PR campaign to shake off the cult image.

Have you seen the banned Mormon cartoon? That is all I need to know about the cult:

Every non-Mormon should know how to counter the lies promoted by the Mormon missionaries.

I cant get over some of the similarities to Islam. Sadly, neither see Jesus as
God and Lord and the only way of salvation.
