I have a copy of the Lutheran Study Bible that was sold thru our local church. I have a hard time reading the small print even with reading glasses (so I don’t!), if this bible has even smaller print I don’t think many people will use it.
The compact editions are aimed at the 25 and under crowd, primarily. I’d suggest using the larger print edition of TLSB if you are having trouble reading the regular print.
A bit off topic, forgive me.
I noticed CPH is selling a CPH edition of the ESV pew Bible, which includes a few Lutheran goodies (Small Catechism, etc) as I understand it. Last night while holding my copy of LSB, and admiring the imprinting of the Word, Baptism and the Supper on the cover, and the imprinted representation of the Holy Trinity on the back, I couldn’t help but think that cover would go great over the CPH edition of the ESV pew Bible.
That said, does CPH have any plans of marrying the two up?
Back on topic – My wife being a lover of pink, this may be a good time to get her her very own copy of TLSB.
Hi Aaron,
Thanks for the suggestion. Those graphics are unique to Lutheran Service Book, and we don’t intend to use them on other books. But thanks for asking.
Blessings,
PTM
Great to see this new compact edition! I pre-ordered the blue version and can’t wait to get it. THis should be a much easier take-along version. I have a super-small edition of the esv i carry and someone at a Bible study called it the “eye strain version”… I thought that a cute play on the letters. Even at 51 I enjoy the small print version. Thanks for making this available!
Another exciting product from Concordia! I’ve found the LSB to be the absolute best study bible around. The notes tackle all of my questions about the scriptures – and always with Lutheran insight.
It’s wonderful to see the Lutheran Study Bible becoming available in other formats. Are there still plans to publish an edition for iBooks?
At this point, we are still trying to think of a good reason to publish it in iBooks, given how well the Kindle format works, on the iPad.
Nice to see a “live copy.” This under 35 pastor might just get one for the travel bag.
Since you’re taking suggestions for color-coding, perhaps a burgundy/maroon cover (out of that plasticized, supple material or not) with the Luther’s Seal found on the Treasury of Daily Prayer would be a good combination.
