In Luther’s day, the precious message of Christian freedom was readily misunderstood by those whose focus was on the things of this world rather than Christ and the cross. Luther was not a politician; he was a pastor who found real freedom in the Gospel. Christian Freedom: Faith Working through Love is the most comprehensive, well-rounded version of this classic writing. A new translation using the longer official version. In this book, Luther offers an understanding of Christian freedom based on the Bible. He connects the challenges of Christian life with Scripture, with salvation in Christ, with freedom in the Gospel, and with the way a Christian can make God-pleasing choices in life.

In the book, there is a a forty-day reading plan that will guide the reader through Luther’s teaching on Christian freedom. This schedule may be followed at any time or during the forty days of Lent, beginning on Ash Wednesday, which makes an excellent plan for congregational reflection.

Introductory notes, illustrations, and glossaries help these classic writings become meaningful in today’s world.

    Pastor,

Just got off the phone with CPH and they said there is NOT free shipping on the Christian Freedom books if the code for the $7.99 sale is used. So basically one needs to choose if they want the discount OR the free shipping–but one cannot get both. Which is fine :-)

Ouch, that doesn’t sound right. Let me look into this.

OK, here’s what happened. We have two promotional codes going: one for free shipping, one for the special pricing for ten or more copies. We are getting them linked together on this product so that you will get free shipping if you order ten or more copies, since that brings the total to $80, past the $75 free shipping level, AND you will get each copy for $7.99.

So should I call and have the shipping cost credited (because I’d already ordered the 15 copies yesterday)…? I really don’t want to be nitpicky about it since it’s a fine deal either way (and my wife spoke with them twice today on it already, lol). And if it’s CPH getting the benefit of the $17 that’s cool with me…

Anyway, glad it’s cleared up and so happy that these new editions are available. Please keep up with this direction of all these valuable products, commentaries, and “readers editions” of important Scriptural, Lutheran, and exegetical works. I pray God grants me a life long enough to read them all and spread the wisdom of them to my family and friends, lol

Yes, you should. Tell the Customer Service Rep you speak to that I invited you to do this, and if they have any question, tell them to put you on hold and call me. I’ll vouch for you. Our bad. Totally.

Oh, thanks for your kind remarks.

Must be a translation and reader’s edition of Von der Freiheit eines Christenmenschen. Are there any plans for similar editions of the other two 1520 treatises?

I’ll second Terry. And could you add Luther’s Bondage of the Will in a study edition that addresses Erasmus?

Is there a Kindle version of Christian Freedom pending?

    Thank. You. So. Much.

“Christian Freedom” is definitely headed into Kindle format.

Bondage of the Will…an idea worth considering.

Any word on timing for the Kindle version?

We’ll begin a congregational reading of Christian Freedom during Sunday Morning Bible Class next week!
