Sunrise on Mars
August 9th, 2012
Kind of looks like my back yard after all the lack of rain here in St. Louis. But seriously, what an awesome photo. HT: Diane Meyer.

Obviously Mars is suffering the effects of runaway global warmi-, er, climate change. Curse you, Big Oil!
Precisely!!!! If only they had Al Gore, they would not have wound up like this. The poor Martians.
The curiosities that sent Curiosity to rove the Fourth Planet are becoming manifest, and the discoveries uncovered will fill many scientific papers, books, further exploration, and endless speculation about the origin of energy and matter… and life itself. However, no matter how far, nor how high we travel, no matter how intricate be the works of our minds, hearts, and hands, we cannot escape the reality of God’s creation. The First Article stands firm, and no work of ours – indeed, no discovery can ever displace that reality. We can only marvel at the Creator’s work, and then step back and declare what He has revealed in His Word about His creation.
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth His handywork. Psalm 19:1 And even on the Martian surface, the sun comes forth as a bridegroom, and like a strong man runs his race with joy (vv. 4-5).
Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth.” (Genesis 11:4, ESV)
The Lord asks Job, and all who watch the skies, several searching questions about His creation, including: Do you know the ordinances of the heavens? Can you establish their rule on the earth? (Job 38:33) And yet, “The fool hath said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’” (Psalm 14:1a)
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse (Romans 1:18-20, ESV).
Yet in His mercy, and because He wants all to turn away from serving other gods to believe in His Son, God has not left Himself without a witness (check Paul’s speech at Lystra, Acts 14:8-18).
@Ken Larson
Good post, Ken.
In man’s effort to understand not only the “how” of creation, but the “who” and the “why”, as well, it must first become possible for:
1) the created to create the Creator; and
2) the finite to comprehend the Infinite.
The first can never happen, and the second occurs only to the extent that the Creator chooses (has chosen) to reveal Himself.
