Would you have a recommendation for a women who has never fired a gun? I have been looking on and off for a while and am having trouble coming to a resolution. Mostly concern of someone stealing it from my house, or mistakenly killing someone.
The gun is for home protection. I cannot carry it any where I go. Not allowed at work or school. Someone suggested a pump 410 pistol as I would not have to worry about loading the gun as I would be nervouse enough. I would take state lessons. Thanks for input.

The best advice I could give you at this point is go to a reputable shooting range near you and ask to be taught how to shoot a firearm. Take a NRA class with NRA certified instructors. I’m not familiar with a pump 410 pistol, but there are revolvers that fire 410 shells.
I’m sorry I can’t give you a more definitive answer. There are so many variables here that the safest thing would be for you to seek local help from knowledgeable folks.
